I woke up suddenly at approximately 3:50am in the middle of an unusual dream. It’s not unusual for me to recall dreams and recount them to my wife, Robyn, but usually I wait until a reasonable hour. Most of my dreams are weird - not bad, just weird - mostly being based on real life experiences such as catching the train to work or riding a motorbike. But this one was different. I knew it fitted the category of Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17. |

Driving south on the Prince’s Highway just south of Nowra, I had already collected a small convoy of four or five vehicles behind me because I was obeying the speed limit of 100 kph. My fellow road users behind me wanted me to drive faster because they were impatient, willing to break the law and risk an accident in an attempt to get to their destinations sooner.

I had managed to dodge her on my lunchtime trip into the shopping mall but on the way back out she approached me and asked if I had a few moments. I had summed her up on the way in: blonde dreadlocks, “hippy style” jeans and T-shirt, bandana on her head, surprisingly no visible tattoos, no facial bling or make-up, with a clipboard and pen in hand. Inevitably, I figured it was money she was after but for what cause I couldn’t tell. I agreed to listen to her since it was too early to go back to work. |

He had been in love with her for years and knew exactly what he was looking for. As he made his way around the floor his eyes fell on what had been the pride and joy of many people many years ago: an FX Holden in good nick but in need of TLC, a 1948 Morris Minor 850 side valve, an old Pontiac Firebird. But these were mere distractions and didn’t hold the appeal of his own true love. |
